As Tesla CEO Elon Musk relishes his sweet billion-dollar Twitter takeover, employees of the social networking company have little good to say, according to leaked text messages exchanged between them on Slack, a business communications platform.

Bashing Musk’s free-speech absolutism, one reliability engineer wrote- “Physically cringy watching Elon talk about free speech.”

“The fact that (Musk) has not talked about what he’s planning on doing in any detail outside of broad sweeping statements could be easily seen as hyperbolic showboating,” a senior staff software engineer added, according to the New York Post.

Being fully aware of Slack being an unsafe mode of communication, one senior staff video engineer went on to announce his exit, undeterred.

“Not the place to say it perhaps, but I will not work for this company after the takeover,” the employee wrote.

As the rant deepened and harsh texts emerged, some employees suggested switching the conversation to Signal, an encrypted messaging application, warning that the text exchange on Slack could be leaked.

On the other hand, some bold employees vented their hearts out on their official Twitter handles.

“You asked me why El*n M*sk buying 9.2% of Tw*tter and getting a board seat is bad and I’m explaining why this was clearly not his end goal and things will certainly get worse and potentially be dangerous for democracy and global affairs,” wrote Addison Howenstine, a software engineer for Twitter.

Twitter‘s new owner Elon Musk said on Monday that he would acquire the company for $44 billion, which finally ends the saga of his weeks-long takeover bid.

After successfully taking over the platform, Musk went on a meme spree on Wednesday and frantically shared quirky ideas like buying Coca-Cola with the goal of adding cocaine to its carbonated drinks.
