Thousands of Instagram users are complaining that they have received a notice from Instagram saying that their accounts will be suspended at the end of October 31. The alert says that the owner of the account will have a 30-day period to disagree with the decision by clicking on a blue box. Many users are also reporting that their Instagram pages have been shut down without any warning.

Most users reported said that they received the message in the afternoon on Monday, with the suspension due in the next 12 hours. Instagram has acknowledged the problem and admitted in a Twitter post that it is a technical glitch that they will sort out soon.

Here’s the warning message that is being sent to the users.

“We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience. #instagramdown,” the social media platform said in the tweet.

However, the Meta-owned social media platform has not specified what is causing the problems. The warning message suggests that some people are not following the strict community guidelines prescribed by Instagram and hence their accounts will likely be taken down.

The glitch has caused a meme fest to start on Twitter with many users taking to the Elon Musk-owned platform to communicate their grievances. Many are amused by the fact that Instagrammers are flocking to a competitor in order to redress their problems.

One user whose Instagram profile was taken down without any notice even called for boycotting the platform. For many, several significant photos and memories were lost with their accounts and evidently, it is a cause of frustration for them.

It is a huge frustration for Instagram users and many feel that their accounts have been suspended for no reason at all. The best case scenario is they recover the account, otherwise, it will be a big blow to Meta platforms in an already not-so-smooth phase.
