Rohit Sharma’s first three DRS calls as full-time ODI captain were bang on. All the times the newly appointed leader challenged the on-field umpires decision, the result was in his favour. With Shamarh Brooks’ wicket off Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling, West Indies were 78-6. Three off those were reviewed.

The Indian team, especially after MS Dhoni, has not been the best at DRS calls. Kohli, after getting a decision overturned in 2017 against Sri Lanka, took more than two years to get a another one. The former India skipper got the DRS call wrong for nine successive time during the period.

On the other hand, taking on the field as a full-time captain for the first time, Sharma hit bingo every time he challenged a decision.

The first victim was Darren Bravo, who was dismissed leg before wicket off Yuzvendra Chahal. Nicholas Pooran and Shamarh Brooks’ decisions were also overturned.

India batting legend Sunil Gavaskar, was impressed with Rohit Sharma’s accuracy with the DRS. He said, “Earlier when MS Dhoni used to get reviews right, it was called as Dhoni Review System. Now Rohit Sharma is getting it right, so you can term it as ‘Definitely Rohit System'”.
