A pitch
invader was in the limelight for a short while as he pretended to be a fielder
for the touring side during the ongoing second Test between India and England at
the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday. Wearing an Indian jersey, the fan sneaked
past the security when play resumed in the second session.

When the
security guards came up to him, he pointed to the badge on the shirt and argued
his case of actually being an Indian player. Eventually, the man, who has been dubbed “Jarvo 69” – as he wore a shirt with the name “Jarvo” along with the number 69 – was escorted off the field.

“Some
random chap in whites had made his way into the middle with the Indian players,
and he stood there as if he was about to take part in the Test match,” The
Indian Express quoted former England batsman Michael Atherton as saying on Sky
Sports.
