Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field against South Africa. He said India will play with three changes in the squad. Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj have been included in the squad. India lead the series 2-0.

Top order batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested in India’s last game before the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Bowler Arshdeep Singh will be missing out due to “some issues with his back”, Sharma said. “It is precautionary, nothing serious”, the skipper clarified.

“It is a very high-scoring ground, I feel the pitch would not change a lot so nice to know what target is in front of us”, Rohit Sharma said. He added, “We want to keep challenging ourselves, keep improving and keep batting the same way.”

South African captain Temba Bavuma said that even though his team can not win the series, it will be “a chance for some of our batters to find some form” ahead of the World Cup in Australia. South Africa made one change — Dwaine Pretorious is in for pacer Anrich Nortje.

A day before the India vs South Africa game, the BCCI officially announced that star bowler Jasprit Bumrah will not be playing in the upcoming World Cup. While no replacement has been announced so far, BCCI clarified that Bumrah is still recovering from his back injury.
