For the next season of the Indian Premier League, the IPL 2022 auctions will reform the structure of all franchise teams.

Because the IPL Governing Council allows each franchise to keep a maximum of four players, most clubs took advantage of this provision to keep their top players for longer.

The eight existing teams kept a total of 27 players on the retention list. Teams have decided to keep top players like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Kane Williamson ahead of the 2022 auction.

Sanju Samson, England’s destructive batter Jos Buttler, and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal have all been retained by Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2022 season.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding their ailments, the inaugural IPL champions have left out prominent players Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. When it comes to the IPL 2022 auction, the Royals will have a purse of INR 62 crore.

Rajasthan hasn’t won the IPL since the inaugural edition in 2008, and Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara will design an auction strategy to produce a balanced lineup.

Let’s take a look at the five players the Rajasthan Royals could target in the IPL 2022 auction.

Evin Lewis

For the second leg of the IPL 2021, the West Indies opening batter took the position of England’s Jos Buttler in the Rajasthan Royals side.

Lewis has been outstanding as an opener in the shortest format, scoring 1318 runs at a strike rate of 158.03 in 45 T20Is, including nine fifties and a pair of hundreds against India.

On his return to the IPL, Lewis blasted 36 runs off 21 balls as Rajasthan Royals beat Punjab Kings by two runs in a dramatic match that went down to the wire.

Lewis and Buttler may form a formidable opening partnership for the Royals, wreaking havoc on the opposition bowlers.

R Ashwin

In IPL 2021, Ashwin took seven wickets and came close to putting Delhi Capitals into the final.

Given that Ashwin has returned to India’s T20I squad after being selected for the T20 World Cup and the home series against New Zealand, teams will want him in their lineup because to his outstanding economy rate of 6.91 in the IPL.

Ashwin’s immense expertise might help the Royals resurrect their bowling department in the middle overs, and he could also advise Samson on key decisions.

Mahipal Lomror

The Rajasthan all-rounder, who boasts a strike rate of 119.87, has the capacity to take crucial bowlers to the cleaners.

In an IPL encounter in Dubai, he hit 17-ball 43 runs against Punjab Kings, including a handful of fours and four sixes.

Because the Rajasthan Royals are known for supporting young players, Lomror’s contract could be extended if the team’s management decides to pick him and groom him in their squad.

Deepak Chahar

In the last four years, the 29-year-old has bowled the new ball for Chennai Super Kings, taking 58 wickets at an average of 27.70 in as many IPL games.

Chahar took 14 wickets in CSK’s IPL 2021 title-winning campaign, including Shubman Gill’s crucial wicket.

Chahar, who plays for Rajasthan’s state team, may be familiar with the conditions at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium and can be useful in the early overs for the Royals.

Kartik Tyagi

Tyagi only gave up one run in the final over of the game to help Rajasthan Royals defend their 185-run mark, with Punjab needing only four runs off six balls to win.

Tyagi only appeared in four games with the Royals, but he took four wickets at an economy rate of 8.85. The Hapur-born 21-year-old will also represent India at the U-19 World Cup in South Africa in 2020.
