Achraf
Hakimi showed what he is capable of on his Ligue 1 debut as he scored a world
class goal to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-1 comeback victory over newly
promoted Troyes on Saturday.

Hakimi
dazzled the fans in the right-back position and he made an instant impact to
put the French giants back on level terms against ESTAC thanks to his
delightful finish.

Newcomers
Troyes stunned the fans as they were in front within 10 minutes of the kickoff
courtesy of Oualid El Hajjam. Left unmarked in a dangerous area, the Morocco
international headed Dylan Chambost’s corner kick past a stranded Keylor Navas.

Mauricio
Pochettino’s men fought back to draw level on their first real chance of the
game as Hakimi’s half-volley thundered past goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon after
Ander Herrera found him with a lovely floated ball.

The
22-year-old Hakimi became the first player for PSG to score on his debut in the
French top-flight since Metehan Guclu. The former Turkey youth international
achieved his feat in April 2019 against Nantes. Hakimi also became just the
second Moroccan to score for the French giants in first division football. His
compatriot Talal El Karkouri was the first to do that when he found the net for
the Parisians in December 2002.

And as if
the whole team was just waiting for this exact moment, PSG took the lead just
two minutes after drawing level when found Kylian Mbappe in a dangerous area. Mbappe’s
energy saw him round Gallon before setting up an onrushing Mauro Icardi, who
put the ball beyond the goal line.

Although
Troyes gave it their all in the second half, it was PSG who took all three
points in the French season opener as they launched their bid to reclaim the
Ligue 1 title that they lost last season after years of dominance.
