Bangladeshi international cricketer Al-Amin Hossain has been embroiled in a domestic violence case filed by his wife since September 7.
More recently, his arrest warrant was cancelled by a Dhaka court after he failed to show up to a court hearing. However, his lawyer argued that the player would have been unable to attend the hearing because he was playing in a four-day match of the National Cricket League in Khulna, which started on Monday, October 10.

Al-Amin had earlier received bail via his lawyer on October 6, the same day the pacer submitted a written statement to the court that he had divorced his wife, Israt, on August 25.
The pacer and Israt got married on December 26, 2012 and the couple had two sons shortly after. Shortly after their marriage, the fast bowler began to demand that she pay a dowry of Tk 20 lakh. When she refused, he would beat her. Fast forward to August 25 this year, Al-Amin threw her and their two sons out of their house.

On September 1, Israt filed a complaint with the Mirpur Model police that the international cricketer was torturing her for dowry. Following her complaint, the police registered a case against the bowler.
Two days later on September 3, Al-Amin sent her a message saying that he refused to pay any maintenance expenses to her. Israt has claimed that the pacer had not paid maintenance expenses and educational expenses for their two sons for many days, according to her case statement. Her lawyer, Shamsuzzaman has claimed that his client had no idea about the divorce claim being made by Al-Amin.

On September 6, the High Court granted Al-Amin anticipatory bail for eight weeks in the case where is he accused of torturing his wife over dowry.
