Week 2 action in the 2022 NFL season has begun, with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating Los Angeles Chargers 27-24 on Thursday night, September 15 at Arrowhead Stadium. The game also marked the beginning of Amazon Prime Video’s deal for exclusive broadcast of NFL‘s Thursday night football games. Ahead of the game, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was seen at Arrowhead Stadium.

Bezos was seen interacting with fans, celebrities as well as players before the game started. He signed autographs and took pictures with the fans inside the stadium. He was seen sitting with his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the stands during the game.

A few Kansas City Chiefs players noticed Bezos on the sidelines and a video released by the NFL on its social media handles seemed like they were excited to have the Amazon founder visit the game.

One of the Chiefs players, punter Tommy Townsend interacted with the 58-year-old Bezos. Townsend and Bezos share their alma mater, the University of Florida. The Amazon founder also clicked a picture with Clark Hunt and Dean Spanos, the owners of the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers ahead of the game.

The Chiefs registered a huge 44-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the star of the game, as he completed 30 out of 39 passes in 360 yards and registered five touchdown passes.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Las Vegas Raiders 24-19 in their season opener. Quarterback Justin Herbert completed 26 out of 34 passes in 279 yards and registered three touchdown passes.

The hosts began underwhelmingly on Thursday night, trailing against the Chargers in the first three quarters. However, the final quarter saw them make a comeback as they beat the Chargers 27-24.

Before the 2022 season, Amazon Prime shared rights to NFL games broadcast with Fox and the NFL Network. The NFL signed a deal with Amazon a year and a half ago, making Amazon the exclusive rights holder for the majority of the league’s Thursday night football games. The deal is worth $13 billion and will run till 2033.
