Andrew Symonds, an Australian cricket legend, died in a car accident on Saturday. Andrew Symonds was an all-rounder for the Australian cricket team who won two World Cups.

Symonds made his international debut against Pakistan in a one-day international in Lahore in 1998. He was best known as a one-day international player with a strike rate of 90 or higher.

Andrew Symonds’ net worth was estimated to be $5 million.

During the 2003 World Cup, he cemented his place in the national team as an ODI specialist. Symonds was regarded as one of international cricket’s best all-rounders.

He was a member of the Queensland and Kent County Cricket Clubs and won numerous awards during his career.

Symonds is one of only a few one-day international players to have scored more than 5000 runs (5,088) and taken more than 100 wickets (133). During his 11-year international career, the all-rounder represented Australia in 198 One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

Symonds joined the Deccan Chargers after being the second-most expensive cricketer in the auction (and the most expensive overseas player) for the inaugural IPL season in 2008, fetching $1.35 million. He later joined the Mumbai Indians.

Consistent form, coupled with the retirement of experienced Australian players, resulted in his on-again, off-again recall to the squad, providing him with many opportunities to establish himself.

Andrew Symonds married Brooke Symonds from 2004 to 2005, and later married Laura, whom he met while studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Movement Science at Queensland University of Technology. The couple got married in 2014 and have two kids.
