Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva, two pillars of the current Manchester City team, finally lifted the Champions League trophy on Saturday when Pep Guardiola and co beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the final. Now, they have seen it all.
However, fans suspect that the UCL final might be their last game in a Man City jersey. The two, if they want to leave, would want to go on a high, and a treble is it.
City won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same year to make history. In the final vs Inter Milan on Saturday, Rodri scored via a curler inside the box to take his side home.
Man City were struggling in the first half. Inter’s defence did not allow many chances. However, the PL champions found a way to avoid extra time and penalties. lkay Gundogan, who captains the team, lifted the trophy.

“Today we made history. It was difficult for both teams. We weren’t at our best in the first half. We were hesitating. We knew we had to do better in the second. It was probably a 50-50 game. We feel very fortunate it was for us. We knew everyone was talking about the Treble. The pressure was there but this team is built to handle the pressure in the best possible way,” he told BT Sport after the match.
Gundogan was City’s hero in the FA Cup final against Manchester United. His contract expires at the end of June 2023 and as per reports La Liga champs Barcelona are the frontrunners to sign him.

As per reports, PSG are lining up a summer move to sign Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese playmaker’s contract runs till 2025. However, Le Parisien said that the Ligue 1 team wants him as Lionel Messi”s replacement.
Fans suspect that the UCL final on Saturday was Gundogan and Silva’s last City game.
“I think Silva and Gundogan are leaving already?” a Twitter user asked.
“Couple of players rumor to be leaving Gundogan and Silva this summer,” another one added.
“Anyway next season with Bernardo and Gundogan leaving, maybe De Bruyne declines physically. Players get bored after winning the CL. We have a chance,” a third one tweeted.
