Arizona Cardinals defense turned up the heat in the first half of the Week 7 Thursday Night Football game versus the New Orleans Saints. The defensive unit combined for two TD in the first 30 minutes at the University of Phoenix Stadium. 

Cardinals’ picked a total of three interceptions from New Orleans Saints QB Andy Dalton out of which they converted two of them into TDs. Dalton had just one interception in his last three starts this year. All of this happened in a 1:44-minute span in the second quarter.

The first defensive TD of the game came when just two minutes were left in the second quarter. QB Dalton’s intended pass from the NO 30-yard line to wide receiver Marquez Callaway was intercepted by cornerback Marco Wilson who ran 38 yards before jumping into the endzone to score his first career touchdown.

The score was tied prior to this play at 14-14. Andy Dalton had scored a first-quarter touchdown, combining with wide receiver Rashid Shaheed for a 53-yard endzone play.

This time it was the turn of the Cardinals’ young linebacker Isaiah Simmons. With a 3rd and 10-yard play in place at Arizona’s 44-yard line, Dalton intended to pass to wide receiver Chris Olave who was present at the Arizona 35-yard line, but it was caught by Simmons who ran 56 yards through to the endzone, giving the team from Arizona a 26-14 lead heading into the first half.

Earlier in the game, Andy Dalton had thrown an interception that was picked by cornerback Antonio Hamilton.

The QB tried an endzone pass to the WR Marquez Callaway, but it was caught just before the ball could be reached the player. The player then took a knee to end the play.
