Aubrey Burks, a West Virginia safety, was carried off the field during the second quarter of Saturday night’s contest with TCU after being tackled while covering a punt.

Burks had to be taken off the field on a cart because it was clear that he had suffered a head or neck injury while making a tackle.

However, it was encouraging to see that Burks’ arms and legs were moving, which is a good sign. Despite this, the medical staff took all essential safety measures and carefully carried him off the field on a stretcher.

For about ten minutes, the game was put on hold while trainers responded to Burks. His injury’s precise nature is still unknown as of right now. While Burks was receiving treatment on the field, there were indications of movement from him.

Burks was considered one of the Big 12’s top defensive backs when the season began, and his performance in the first four games has lived up to that expectation. Burks had 13 tackles, three tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one interception prior to the game.

Defensive backs Montre Miller and Keyshawn Cobb both suffered season-ending injuries earlier in the season, posing a challenge for West Virginia’s defensive line. This makes the team’s defensive problems much worse.

The nature of Aubrey Burks’ injury and any prospective treatments have not yet been officially announced by WVU Sports. It’s important to know that the TCU campus in Fort Worth is close to a medical district.

Prior to Saturday’s game, he was a key contributor, ranking seventh on the team with 12 tackles. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and two pass breakups, which tied him for second place.
