Mumbai Indians’ Dewald Brevis on Wednesday justified all the hype around him by hitting Punjab Kings’ Rahul Chahar for four humongous sixes in one over. The 18-year-old was ultimately dismissed for 49 runs off 25 ball at the MCA Stadium, Pune.

Brevis, who is 18 years old, is referred to as Baby AB – after AB de Villiers, one of the best batsmen cricket has seen. Against PBKS, chasing 199 runs, the South African turned beast when leg-spinner Rahul Chahar came on to bowl the ninth over.

Tilak Varma, on the other end, kicked off the next over by top-edging Vaibhav Arora for a boundary over the wicketkeeper’s head. The MI batsman then smashed the fifth ball of the 10th over for a six.

Just when the two were taking the game away from PBKS, Odean Smith got Mayank Agarwal a wicket. On the last ball of the 12th over, Dewald Brevis, who was on 49, miscued a pull and Arshdeep Singh gobbled a catch at deep backward square leg. The South African finished his innings with four boundaries and five sixes.
