Matt Ryan, quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, recorded an interception and sack in the first two drives of the Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The two sides locked horns at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
Ryan’s night started a pass to wide receiver Alec Pierce. It was deflected and the Indianapolis quarterback was lucky not to have thrown an interception.
With the Steelers already 3-0 up, Matt Ryan’s second pass of the game was picked off by cornerback James Pierre, who made a diving catch. Pittsburgh take over at Indianapolis’ 38.
On Colts’ second drive vs Pittsburgh, Ryan held on to the ball for too long in the back field and Edmunds got to the QB for a seven yard loss. He was sacked.

In all, the Indianapolis Colts gained no yards in the first quarter. Steelers led 3-0. After their first three possessions, Colts, in eight plays, had six yards.
“YES! Thank god Matt Ryan literally can’t move,” a Twitter user wrote.
“This is an absolute abomination of a start for Matt Ryan,” a second one added.

“Matt Ryan is a statue. You apply pressure you force him to either throw it away, throw it on the run, force a throw or sack him. He can’t do anything outside of the pocket. Feast all day defense,” a third one said.

“Oh it’s back to sad Matt Ryan,” one more tweeted.
Indy and Pittsburgh (3-7) started Week 12 with two of the NFL’s five lowest-scoring averages. The Colts have lost two of three, the Steelers three of four. And despite making quarterback changes, only Davis Mills and Josh Allen have more interceptions than Indy’s Ryan (nine) or Pittsburgh rookie Kenny Pickett (eight).
