Ben Gordon, a former National Basketball Association (NBA) guard, was arrested after he allegedly punched a McDonald’s security guard, police said.

The 39-year-old
Gordon has been charged with misdemeanour battery causing bodily harm and
battery making physical contact, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday. He was
arrested around 3:30 am Friday after police responded to a report of a disturbance
by a man being escorted from McDonald’s. Police said Gordon was arrested at the
scene.

Ben Gordon
played for four teams in course of his NBA career.

A
29-year-old man was hit in the face and thrown to the ground while another
21-year-old man was pushed in course of the altercation. Both refused medical
help.

Last month,
the former NBA player was charged with assault, resisting arrest, contempt and
child endangerment in New York for allegedly punching his son. The incident
happened at the LaGuardia Airport.

Witnesses
saw Ben Gordon punching a 10 or 11-year-old boy in the face after the boy
dropped a book on the ground, according to the Queens district attorney’s
office. Gordon later confirmed to the police that the boy in question was his
son. Gordon also allegedly assaulted officers when they attempted to handcuff
him and put him in a patrol car.

Ben Gordon’s
basketball career began playing at the collegiate level for the University of
Connecticut. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2004 and he played 11
seasons in the NBA with Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte and Orlando, most recently
in the 2014-15 season with the Magic.

Gordon’s
career best was in the 2006-07 season when he averaged 21.4 points and 3.6
assists for the Bulls.
