WWE fans were left in shock when Vince McMahon announced that he is retiring and stepping down from his role as CEO and Chairman of the company on Saturday. Many tributes to the 77-year-old have been posted on social media, some of which have come from WWE stars, present and past.

While Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon has replaced her father in an interim capacity as Co-CEO, unsettling news emerged that legendary WWE star Brock Lesnar has left the organisation. WWE also removed him from all advertisements from Saturday night’s SmackDown show in Boston.

However, despite rumours suggesting that he has left, Lesnar showed up to the event on Saturday night. It was his first appearance on SmackDown since June 17, 2022, when Roman Reigns beat Riddle to retain his status as champion.

The 45-year-old’s music hit the speakers during a taunt from Theory (Austin White) following a match on Saturday night, who found himself against a delightful Lesnar. Lesnar entered the ring soon and hit Theory with an F5.

Lesnar has often found himself on opposite ends of Vince McMahon on different issues, but has always dealt directly with the former WWE CEO regarding payment and creatives. It has also been reported in the past that the two share mutual respect for each other.

McMahon currently finds himself investigated after a Wall Street Journal article alleged that the former WWE CEO and Chairman had paid over $12 million to four women. Since then, another wrestler, Paul London, has also come out criticising McMahon for his treatment of dead WWE star Ashley Massaro.

Brock Lesnar is slated to face WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam on July 30.
