Caleb Swanigan, who was known for his time with Purdue Boilermakers basketball team, had died. He was 25 years old.

A social media post from the basketball team on Tuesday morning remembered the star player. “Our thoughts and prayers to Caleb Swanigan’s family and friends. The world lost a gentle soul last night. Love you Biggie”, the post read.

According to reports from TMZ Sports citing a spokesperson of Allen County Coroner’s Office, Caleb Swanigan died of natural causes on Monday.

Swanigan had also made his debut in NBA and played for Portland Trailblazers and Sacramento Kings until 2020. He was a first-round pick in the 2017 NBA draft, reports suggest.

His record before joining entering the big leagues was also one of the best in Indiana. He averaged 22.6 points and 13.7 rebounds per game in his senior season, according to TMZ. He was later given the McDonald’s All-American honors for his exceptional record.

Swanigan, a 6-foot-9 and 260-pound player, averaged 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game when he played with the Purdue Boilermakers.

However, Caleb Swanigan’s three years in the NBA were relatively dull. He appeared in 75 games in total, including Portland Trailblazers and Sacramento Kings. According to stats provided by the NBA, Swanigan averaged 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

When he wasn’t playing basketball, Caleb liked to produce his own music. He also had his own label, TMZ reported. The 25- year-old used the stage name “Slyy5jackk” to rap.

He also released multiple songs in 2021 alone. These included ‘Thoughts/THOTS’ and ‘My Life’.
