Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders’ new wide receiver who has till date spent his entire professional career with the Green Bay Packers, has recently compared his present and former teammates at the quarterback position, in an interview with CBS Sports. Adams was playing with Aaron Rodgers as the Packers’ quarterback, and will now have to share the pitch with Derek Carr. Speaking on the changes he’d have to make to his game, Adams said, “Anytime you change quarterbacks from Hall of Famer to Hall of Famer … it’s going to be a little bit of an adjustment”.

However, fans of Rodgers took an exception to Adams’ statement, and statistics also seem to favor the 38-year-old quarterback. While 2022-23 will be the eighteenth NFL season for the 2010 Super Bowl champion and 2021 NFL MVP, Carr will be entering his ninth season this year.

Although Carr does holds a number of records when it comes to the Raiders’ club history, fans are of the opinion that he comes nowhere close to Rodgers’ legendary status, and cannot definitely be called a Hall of Famer. Some were also quick to point out that Adams was being diplomatic:

However, Adams later pointed out that he wasn’t specifically stating that Carr belongs to the Hall of Fame right now, saying, “I wasn’t saying, ‘Hall of Famer Aaron to Hall of Famer Derek.’ So, I’m not retracting my statement at all.” Adams was of the opinion that although Carr has neither been named MVP, nor has he won a Super Bowl yet, that is what the Raiders will be chasing this season.  The Raiders had last won the Super Bowl in 1983.

Adams and Carr’s link-up will be of great interest to fans since the two will be sharing the dressing room for the first time since their Fresno state college days. To celebrate their reunion, Las Vegas Raiders tweeted:

Especially after Adams’ comments, experts and fans will be keeping a keen pair of eyes on this pair once the NFL season starts in September.
