Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez will face American boxer Jermell Charlo to defend his undisputed super middleweight belt on September 30 in Las Vegas. Alvarez will defend his championship in the much-awaited fight, as he attempts to keep his position as the current super middleweight champion.

Canelo Alvarez has inked a multi-fight contract with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) after finishing up his responsibilities with Matchroom Boxing. Despite Canelo’s original desire to rematch with Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, it was decided that a rematch with Dmitry Bivol would not be possible owing to the logistical difficulties presented by both champions’ demands and schedules.
There was a lot of anticipation when Canelo Alvarez’s contract with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) was revealed because of upcoming fights against famous fighters like Jermall Charlo and David Benavidez. At first, it was thought that Canelo would face Jermall Charlo in his debut match under the PBC brand. The actual situation, however, is very different from what was initially reported and the fighter will be against Jermell Charlo.

However, as the much-awaited fight date was announced, fans looked joyed on social media, while some showcased a sarcastic jibe. One user wrote, “Jermall is bigger than jermell that’s why I had mall.. The size difference is what scaring me for jermell. And mall use to being over 160.. Idk about this one. Canelo still sharp and strong.”
