Speculation says Canelo could also lock horns with WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack. In a speculation piece on Thursday, Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Deportes reported that Canelo (59-2-2, 39 KOs) could fight Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs).
As the rumor surfaced about the anticipated tussle, fans are buzzed with the possibility of Jermall Charlo facing Canelo Alvarez in his forthcoming bout in September has fans giddy with anticipation.

In a speculative article by Salvador Rodriguez, he said, “Everything SEEMS to indicate that Canelo Álvarez is directed at Jermall Charlo. Among the options still alive, Badou Jack was undoubtedly solid because there Canelo would have the opportunity to seek the five-time world championship that he has been eyeing for a long time. If this comes to fruition, Canelo would be working again with Al Haymon for the first time since November 2021.”
However, Stephen Espinoza, Showtime’s president, has banished the speculative report. He said Canelo’s team is still considering various options and has not made a definitive decision to fight the undefeated Charlo next. He affirmed that nothing has been fixed yet.

He added that Canelo’s next opponent’s identity is still a mystery, and there are rumors regarding possible pairings. It is important to note that Canelo facing Jermall or Badou could not be in the public’s best interests. Though Rodriguez concedes in his article that the choice of Badou Jack as Canelo’s next opponent is still a possibility. In other words, he lacks a thorough comprehension of Canelo’s upcoming opponent. Eventually, the situation will be made clear in the announcement itself.
