Chennai Super Kings batter Ambati Rayudu on Saturday announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League. However, minutes later, he deleted his retirement tweet, leaving fans confused. 

“I am happy to announce that this will be my last ipl. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful journey,” the 36-year-old wrote in the now-deleted tweet on Saturday afternoon. 

After the tweet was deleted, his confused fans took to Twitter to find out what was happening. 

Some fans also thanked him for playing a crucial role in the CSK squad. 

“Whether you are playing for the IPL or the Indian team, you have always played a pivotal role Best wishes for your future endeavors,” one person wrote. 

“We will not forget what have u done for csk bahubali you will always be a cskian now . Thanks for what u have given to this franchise . Hope to see u in yellow, in csk management,” another person wrote.

Rayudu made his IPL debut in 2010 when he was picked by Mumbai Indians. He played all the matches for the side in the 2013 season, which marked the team’s first IPL win. He went on to win the title with MI in 2015 and 2017. He was picked by CSK in the 2018 season and played a major part when the side won the title in 2018 and in 2021. In the 2022 IPPL season, he has scored 271 runs at a strike-rate of 124.
