American footballers of Cincinnati Bengals, Eli Apple, and B.J. Hill, mocked Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady on December 19, 2022, after the National Football League match.

Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Buccaneers with a final score of 34-23. The Bengals players were trailing by 17-0 in the first half of the match, but they made an attacking come-back in the second half and led their team to the win.

Cincinnati Bengals’ cornerback Eli Apple and defensive tackle B.J. Hill called out Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady after the winning comeback and said, “The future’s now, old man,” while going back to the locker room.

Tom Brady last week in an interview said that the team Cincinnati Bengal’s defense was fairly tough. It seemed that the Bengal’s quaterback and defensive tackle took that statement, especially the word ‘fairly’ quite personally.

After the match against Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the two Bengal players used the word ‘fairly’ in almost all their sentences while answering the questions in the media session that took place after the match.

“Our fairly tough defense came in and played our butts off in the second half,” said Hill in the interview. “We’re fairly tough on defense,” added B.J. Hill.

Adding to it, Eli Apple was no less in the media session. He said while answering a question, “[Brady] was fairly okay, but not good enough to win,”

Paul Dehner Jr. reacted to this ‘fair’ play of words by Eli Apple and B.J. Hill. The Athletic’s podcast host and senior writer Paul Dehner Jr took to Twitter and wrote “I think I just heard the phrase “fairly tough” used 73 times in the Bengals defensive locker room.” He further added, “Yeah, that comment struck a chord”

Although Tampa’s players were in full control of the match and it seemed to be a clear win for them in the first half, Bengal’s comeback in the second half and their journey to the winning end took everyone by surprise.
