Golden State Warriors‘ near-perfect start to the NBA 2021-22 season was blemished by the hammering they faced at the hands of Charlotte Hornets on Sunday. But they are still 11-2 and had a lot of positives to take even from the loss.

Stephen Curry, the reigning West Conference Player of the Week, has been immaculate in his shooting and more importantly, his defensive contributions have allowed the likes of Gary Payton II and Daymond Green to surge forward into the box. Jordan Poole has shown his pre-season form wasn’t just a flash in the pan as he continues to impress. But on Tuesday, the Warriors will face a massive challenge when they clash against a buffed up Brooklyn Nets lineup.

The Nets (10-4) haven’t set the NBA alight with their performances but their stacked-up lineup is enough to instil fear in opposition hearts. In their previous encounter, the Brooklyn side absolutely thrashed the Oklahoma Thunders and will be hoping to put on display more of the same.

The Warriors still own the best record in the league and carry the highest points differential of 13.23 but will now face the superstar duo of James Harden and Kevin Durant, the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Durant has been in fine form coming into the game. He has shot 65.2% from the field with a league-best 29.6 PPG.

However, without Joe Harris, Paul Millsap, and Nic Claxton, Steve Nash’s club is anticipated to be shorthanded. Harris’ absence in this game might be key, since he has been crucial in terms of spacing and shooting. In Harris’ absence, the Brooklyn Nets will have to pick up the burden.

The game against the Golden State Warriors will be the finest opportunity for Harden to perform at his best.
