Cliff Branch, the late Oakland Raiders’ wide receiver, was awarded a Ring of Excellence at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. He became the first football star to receive this honour posthumously. Branch’s sister, Elaine, was at the event to collect the honour.

Cause of death
On August 3, 2019, Branch was found dead in a hotel room in Arizona’s Bullhead City. Local police later revealed that Branch had died from natural causes. The three-time Super Bowl champion was 71 at the time of his death.
Family
Branch is survived by his wife Barbara Branch, two sons- Brent and Anthony, daughter Melanie, and three siblings- sisters Cheryl and Elaine and brother Edwin. He was a grandparent to Brentney and Courtni.
