Baseball legend Frederick Stanley Mcgriff was elected to the Hall of Fame by contemporary committee baseball era committee, after the 16 judges made a unanimously chose the 59-year-old .

In a 19-year long professional baseball career, Mcgriff played for 6 clubs. Nicknamed the “Crime Dog”, he scored 493 home runs in his career and won a world series title as a fire baseman with the Atlanta Braves in 1995. Along with the Braves, the star also represented Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Chicago Clubs and Los Angeles Dodgers in his lengthy career.

However, Mcgriff’s 2021 statement where he said that he never saw coach Tom Emanski’s defensive drills video resurfaced as twitter users trolled the new hall of famer for not crediting the veteran coach for what he deserves. Interestingly, Fred Mcgriff featured in the advertisement of Tom Emanski’s drills video.

” While tweeting about sports, Congrats to Fred Mcgriff on @baseballhof election and to @realTomEmanski – your instructional video gets results – as promised”, wrote a twitter user, clearly using sarcasm to mock Mcgriff

While another user could hardly believe that Mcgriff could enter the Hall of Fame without the guidance from Emanski’s video

While another user made a tongue-in-cheek comment where he referred to his tears of joy but also hinted that Emanski might have different tears.

Another user further referred to the old video and said that there was no way the baseball legend would have been conferred the award without the video guidance of his coach.

While Fred Mcgriff won the ballot by a clear mandate of 16 votes (100 percent), Don Mattingly and Curt Schilling came second and third with eight votes (50 percent) and  7 votes (43 percent) respectively.
