India face Pakistan in their second Commonwealth Games 2022 match at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Sunday. 

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and chose to bat.

“We’ll bat first. It’s an important match, will like to put on a target. Very important match to stay alive,” Maroof said at the toss. 

India made two changes for the blockbuster game.

“Two changes for us. Wanted to bowl first. Always better to chase in these conditions. Want to go with the same approach (as against Australia),” Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said. 

The head-to-head stats favour India. The women in blue have won nine of the 11 T20Is between the teams. Pakistan have won two. 

Harmanpreet Kaur and co come to the game after losing their opening fixture against Australia Women by three wickets. They are placed in number three position in Group A.

India put up 154 runs batting first. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 52 runs. Shafali Verma slammed 48. 

Pakistan Women lost their opening clash against Barbados Women by 15 runs and are placed in 4th position in Group A table. Chasing 145 runs, they stumbled on just 129/6. Fatima Sana took two wickets and Nida Dar smashed unbeaten 50 runs off 31 balls

Pakistan have won just one T20I match against India in the last five meetings.
