For ardent cricket fans, missing the action of the match is not possible.
Watching cricket regularly is the most exciting thing fans do. Former India
all-rounder Irfan Pathan must have belonged to that class. On Sunday, Deepak
Hooda
made his debut for India in the first game of the three-match ODI series
against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Pathan
watched Hooda’s innings on his tablet when he was stuck in traffic while
travelling. He also shared an image of that moment on Twitter that went viral.

He
captioned it, “Couldn’t have missed his debut inning for India for
anything. #TRAFFIC #travel.”

Hooda,
26, scored 26 off 32 balls as India chased down 177 runs target in his debut
game. He was handed over the India cap by former captain Virat Kohli ahead of
the start of the series opener.

Captain
Rohit Sharma did not use Hooda’s bowling skills, but he was sent to bat at No.
6 after Rishabh Pant’s quick dismissal for 11 runs in the 18th over. Hooda
during his innings hit two boundaries – one was a back-foot punch through
mid-off against Alzarri Joseph while the other was against a fuller delivery from
Jason Holder, through the third man.

He
also formed a crucial 66-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 34
off 36 balls as India chased down the target in 28 overs.

“Things were really clear, he (Hooda) has
played a lot of domestic cricket, so he knew the situation really well. So we
were having little conversations and setting little goals (in our partnership).
His confidence was spot on though. Loving with how things are going right now,
I’m enjoying my time in the nets as well, he said in the post-match
presentation.
