All you need to know about Crown Perth:

Crown Perth (previously Burswood Island Casino, Burswood Island Complex, and Burswood Entertainment Complex) is a resort and casino located on the Swan River in Burswood, Western Australia.

The resort has a casino, a convention centre with meeting rooms, a theatre, and two ballrooms, as well as 32 restaurants and bars, a nightclub, and recreational amenities. It also has three hotels: the Crown Metropol Perth, Crown Promenade Perth, and Crown Towers Perth, which opened in December 2016.

Crown Resorts’ auditor warned in 2021 that several money-laundering investigations targeting the Australian casino operator, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, cast “substantial” doubt on the company’s capacity to continue as a growing concern.

Crown has been mired in court fights and scandal since allegations of money laundering at its Melbourne casino surfaced in 2019. In June, the financial crime regulator expanded its investigation into its flagship casino in Melbourne to encompass its operations in Perth.

The company, of which billionaire James Packer owns 37%, also stated that the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) was “highly likely” to initiate civil proceedings against its casinos in both locations.
