Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs intercepted a pass from Giants QB Daniel Jones late in the fourth quarter, sealing the game in favor of the Cowboys. The match was played at the Metlife Stadium, home of the Giants. The final score read: 23-16, a win for the Cowboys.

Giants were aiming to make a one-last push towards their opposition’s endzone as the clock was ticking down. Jones’ pass was caught in his own half by Diggs with just under two minutes left in the game. 

This was Diggs’ first interception of the year and the Cowboys’ second of the year as a team. The team earlier intercepted Tom Brady in Week 1 in a game that they lost at home by a 19-3 score.

 The match was tied at 13-13 going into the fourth quarter. Both teams scored their first touchdowns for the game in the last quarter only. Ezekiel Elliot scored for the Cowboys while Saquon Barkley scored for the Giants.

Trevon Diggs was drafted 51st overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. In the 2021 season, he led the NFL with most interceptions with 11 to his name. The player was also named to the Pro Bowl in the season.

Diggs was born on September 20, 1998 in Gaithersburg city of  Maryland state. He attended the University of Alabama for college and played in their Crimson Tide football program. With Alabama, he was the College Football Champion in 2018. He played with the team from 2016-2019.

The Cowboys next face the Washington Commanders at home on Sunday, October 2nd. The New York Giants welcome Chicago Bears who have won 2 and lost one so far this season.
