Fans of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin will be delighted to know that their idol is back to work after having suffered a cardiac arrest following the hit from an open-field tackle on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

He was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is also sharing updates with fans via his social media accounts. He tweeted: “Putting love into the world comes back 3xs as much… thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed. This will make me stronger on the road to recovery, keep praying for me!”

Hamlin also shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with rapper Meek Mill and Fanatics’ Executive Chairman Michael Rubin. The caption read: “Back Working! Back Smiling!”

Hamlin was seen on his hospital bed with a beaming smile. On January 6, it was reported that the athlete was “awake” and holding hands with his family. Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam tweeted that his teammate was awake and improving shortly before his team posted an update on Hamlin.

“Our boy is doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement. Thank you God. Keep the prayers coming please. All love 3!” Elam said.

Buffalo Bills also said that the time that Hamlin has “shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours” and “has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact.” It meant it was responsive, making purposeful movements and following commands.

Teams and players honored the Bills star by wearing t-shirts during pregame warmups that read “Love for Damar”. It was also decided that the gameday uniform on Sunday against the New England Patriots will bear a patch that reads ‘3’, which was Hamlin’s jersey number.
