DeAndre Hopkins’ trade away from the Arizona Cardinals has been a talking point for weeks. Hours ahead of the NFL 2023 Draft, reports suggested that the franchise might look to trade the wide receiver to Tennessee Titnas for a No 3 pick.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Cardinals and Titans have discussed a trade for the No 3 pick but it does not include DeHop.
“While the #Titans have had conversations about a potential trade up to No. 3 — among other spots — they have not had conversations centered around star WR DeAndre Hopkins, source said,” Rapoport tweeted.
The NFL reporter’s tweet came after Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Tennessee were looking to swap the No 3 pick to Arizona in return for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
However, soon after the draft, Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort addressed the Hopkins reports.
“I don’t foresee that happening. I don’t know what is going to happen in the next couple days, but right now, I don’t foresee that happening. DeAndre is a Cardina. DeAndre is a Cardinal and we’re moving forward,” Ossenfort said as per the team’s official website when asked if Hopkins is going to be traded.
DeAndre Hopkins is a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro selection. He led the Arizona Cardinals with 717 receiving yards last season. However, he played only nine games.
Hopkins was suspended for the team’s first six games for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Drug policy. He has six seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. The star WR has 853 catches, 11,298 receiving yards and 71 touchdown catches in 145 career games.
