Standing amongst thousands of Kansas City Chiefs fans was a woman with a chalkboard. On the board, she wrote, ” Derek Carr: the comeback guy.” Social media users trolled her for getting the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback’s jersey number wrong.

The woman also mentioned Carr’s jersey number as #24. The Las Vegas star, however, wears a number 4. Other social media users questioned the claim that the 31-year-old is a ‘comeback guy’. 

Kansas City Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-29 at the Arrowhead Stadium. With the win, Patrick Mahomes and co now have a 4-1 record in the 2022 season. The Raiders, on the other hand, are 1-4.

Carr was not the most liked person on the pitch Sunday. A roughing the passer penalty in his favour saw the crowd boo the Las Vegas Raiders and officials. 

“COMEBACK CARR ?” a Twitter user asked. 

“Derek “The Comeback Guy” Carr might be the funniest earnest fan sign I’ve ever seen,” another one said. 

“Derek Carr the comeback guy is in contention for the worst sign if all time,” a thid one added.

Carr, in fact, is tied with Matthew Stafford for most number of fourth quarter comebacks in the fourth quarter. Both the QBs have achieved the feat 30 times. 

However, he failed to make it 31 on Monday.

The quarterback finished the game with 241 passing yards for two touchdowns. He made 17.94 fantasy points. Derek Carr now has 1038 passing yards in the 2022 season with six touchdown throws and four interceptions. 

Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes to Travis Kelce, the Chiefs overcame an early 17-point deficit. Raiders’ Jacobs ran for 133 yards and a score, as the Raiders lost to the Chiefs for the fourth straight time. Daniel Carlson was 3 for 3 on field goals, extending his streak to 38 in a row.
