QB Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns made his first start of the 2022 NFL season in Week 13 and it came against his former side, Houston Texans at the NRG Stadium in Houston. The visiting team won the game 27-14.

Watson did not have the game he thought he would have given his special talents. Instead, the player threw an interception in the first quarter.

Watson was signed by the Browns after Houston traded for him earlier this off-season. He was suspended for 12 weeks this year owing to his legal cases.

The 27-year-old completed just 12 of his 22 passes for 131 yards and an interception. His new team totally failed on offense, unable to score a single TD during the entirety of the game.

They had two Tds in the form of defensive plays made by the team while one was from the punt return position.

They first ran for 76 yards into the endzone following a punt return caught by Donovan Peoples-Jones, wide receiver for the team and also caught an intercepted ball through LB Tony Fields III from Texans QB Kyle Allen

Along with this, they recovered a fumble in the second quarter courtesy of LB  and went into the Bears’ endzone.

Deshaun Watson’s Legal issues:

During his final year at Houston, he disagreed with the team hiring head coach Lovie Smith and as a result opted out of playing any games. Later, by the end of April 2021, 22 women had filed lawsuits against Watson for sexual harassment.

As a result of this, endorsement agreements with Watson were canceled by Nike and Beats By Dre. H-E-B and Reliant Energy said they had no plans to work with Watson in the future.

In response to these allegations, the NFL declared on August 18, 2022, that Watson would receive an 11-game suspension, a record $5 million fine, a behavioral assessment, and a treatment plan. He will donate his fine and an additional $2 million to organizations that fight sexual assault.
