Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe are embroiled in an online battle of words.

It all started after a mistake by Metcalf during the Sunday night football game between the Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he fumbled a ball trying to gain extra yards when he could have gone out of bounds to initiate a pike.

His team did recover and managed a field goal to level things up and send the game to Overtime, where they eventually lost by 3 points. The final tally stood at 23-20 in the favour of the Steelers.

If not for that field goal, Metcalf would have been the reason for the Steelers win in regulation time.

But the wide receiver did not take lightly a comment by Sharpe about the mistake.

“What was D. K thinking? Why try to play hero in that situation?” Sharpe tweeted.

Metcalf hit back by calling Sharpe “lil boy” and asked him to stop questioning the play.

“Nothing to question. That was “DUMB ASS” play and your pride won’t  let you admit it. “You” can’t question anything I’ve done. Pray your resume will be as complete as mine, PRAY. Enjoy the rest of your day,” the former star tight end and current TV personality said.

Metcalf did not hold back and responded,” From the looks of it i can wipe my *** with yours! Continue to gossip you washed up wanna be”.

The feud is likely to continue as none of the two seem to be backing down. While the original tweet was a valid question, the aftermath of it has really gone wild.
