Tennessee Titans quarterback Josua Dobbs does not have cancer, he has Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disorder that causes unpredictable hair loss. Dobbs started against Dallas Cowboys in the week 17 NFL game at Nissan Stadium.

The 27-year-old Dobbs has been suffering from Alopecia Areata for the last 17 years. However, he has taken the disease in its stride and failed to get depressed under its stress.

 “Keep in mind that all of your dreams can be accomplished without your hair. Alopecia shouldn’t stand in your way.You do live in a society that is filled with social media and a focus on beauty. But at the end of the day, if you are comfortable in your own skin—whether you have long hair or no hair—you can be successful and happy,” the Titans’ quarterback was quoted to have said by sportskeeda.

Dobbs has been a new entrant to the rank and files of the Titans, having been signed up as recently as December 21. Within just a week and a few days of joining the team, the star born in Georgia (USA) was given the responsibility to play as the starting quarterback in the Titans’ week 17 clash over the Dallas Cowboys at home.

However, Dobbs’ first experience as a starting quarterback did not go in the best possible way, with the Titans succumbing to a 13-27 defeat in the match. Despite being within striking distance of the Cowboys at 6-10 at half-time and 13-17 after the end of the third-quarter. The Cowboys threw ice on a comeback dream of the Titans as Dak Prescott’s second touchdown took away the game firmly from their hands. The defeat was the Titans’ sixth in a row and also ended their chances of qualifying to the playoffs.
