Doug Pederson, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, consoled Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert after his side’s loss in the wildcard round on Saturday.
“The first thing Doug Pederson did after the win is he went over and game Justin Herbert words of encouragement and advice. What Trevor Lawrence has in his coach is what Justin Herbert needs in a coach,” a Twiter user said.
After trailing 27-7 at halftime, Jacksonville came back to win the game 31-30 at the TIAA Bank Stadium.
After finally making his first career playoff debut with the Chargers, it appeared like things couldn’t have been going better for Herbert in the first half, with Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence throwing four interceptions and the team also losing a fumble. Herbert completed 25 of 43 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown.

Jaguars recovered from being down 27-0 to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers on Super Wild Card Weekend, 31-30. The epic collapse resulted in a social media buzz with Herbert being in the middle of it. He received a lot of support online, with much of the hate going to his coaching staff.
After a tepid start, Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars embarked on a 24-3 second-half run and completed the comeback with a 36-yard field goal from Riley Patterson as time expired.

On his first 16 passing attempts, Lawrence completed four to his teammates and, four to the chargers. The former No. 1 overall pick had a very rough first half as he was intercepted four times – three being recorded by Asante Samuel Jr. Lawrence became the fifth quarterback to throw three interceptions in a playoff quarter since 1991. However, he came out of the halftime break rejuvenated.

Jaguars became the first team in the Super Bowl era to win a playoff game with a turnover differential of minus-5 or worse. Teams with that margin had been 0-19. Lawrence led three straight touchdowns and ran in a two-point conversion to cut the deficit to just wove more than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
