Some of the biggest sides will be up
against each other, reigniting age-old rivalries on Sunday. Fans have been
buzzing with excitement and engaging in football banter on social media which
has added to the hype of the world-famous encounters.

Here are the matches you need to watch out
for this weekend:

Barcelona
vs Real Madrid

The first ‘El Clasico’ of the season is
already here and although both the teams are in a phase of rebuilding, the
match will be the biggest of the weekend. The Spanish giants will step on the
field with the perfect mix of young talents Ansu Fati, Pedri, Vinicius Jr and
Frenkie De Jong with ample experience in Sergio Busquets, Luka Modric and Karim
Benzema
.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side sit on the third
position in the La Liga table while Ronald Koeman’s men have struggled in all
tournaments and sit on the eighth spot.

Manchester
United vs Liverpool

Manchester United will host Jurgen Klopp’s
men at the Old Trafford for the encounter between the age-old Premier League
giants. It will be their 202nd meeting with United winning 81 of those and
Liverpool emerging on top on 68 occasions.

While history favours Ole Gunnar
Solskjaeer’s men, the Red devils have been treading on thin ice in the Premier
League. They have failed to win their last three encounters, suffering defeat
on two of those occasions even with Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch.

On the other hand, Liverpool have been
flying with an in-form Mohamed Salah scoring astonishing solo goals in his last
two league outings.

Inter
vs Juventus

The ‘Derby d’Italia’ has been dictating
Serie A title races for years and while Juventus have been off the pace since
Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure this summer, a statement win over champions Inter
Milan
will go a long way towards getting their campaign back on track. But the
record Serie A champions have hit form at the right time, winning each of their
last five games in all competitions, while the Nerazzuri have fallen of the
races in the last few weeks, losing to Lazio and drawing at Atalanta in their
last three league outings.

Marseille
vs PSG

The stakes are always high when two of
France’s biggest and most successful teams meet, but this year, a little
Argentine spice heats up the age-old rivalry. Marseille’s Stade Velodrome is
one of the fieriest football stadiums in Europe and there will extra hostility
from the fans when Lionel Messi emerges from the tunnel with the PSG team. An
Argentine battle will also be on show on the touchline, with Marseille coach Jorge
Sampaoli ready for his first ‘Le Classique’ against Mauricio Pochettino and Paris Saint-Germain.
