Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was not happy with star forward Cristiano Ronaldo walking off into the tunnel before the end of the match between his team and Tottenham Hotspur. In a post-match interview with Prime Video, the Dutch manager said that he will be dealing with Ronaldo tomorrow.

His comments during the interview were,  “I have seen him (leaving), I didn’t speak to him after. I will deal with that tomorrow.” He further added, “Today I enjoyed this performance, we are celebrating this victory and now we have to recover from this and we have a big game against Chelsea. The Premier League is so exciting.”

United, who suffered a draw against Newcastle at home in their previous league encounter, managed to defeat Spurs with a 2-0 scoreline, thanks to strikes from Fred and Bruno Fernandes. Regarding tonight’s performance, Fernandes said to BBC Sport, “Everyone is really pleased, it was a great performance and the perfect performance. We have to keep going, understand it is a process, win or lose, and we have to keep the focus and carry on.”

Fernandes, who has been wearing the captain’s armband post Harry Maguire being sidelined from the playing XI, said that United also put up a splendid performance against Palace and that they “controlled the game” but “did not get the result”.

The United number 8 was also all praises for his teammates for putting up stellar performances in the match: “We know the quality we have up front, we know we can be dangerous so if we have chances to shoot we have to have the belief we can score. Marcus Rashford didn’t score today but did so much, Jadon Sancho too and he was involved in Fred’s goal.”

After tonight’s win, United are fifth on the Premier League table. Their upcoming match against Chelsea will decide whether the Red Devils manage to break into the top-four positions.
