AC Milan came back from two goals down to beat Celtic 4-2 in Europa League Group H on Thursday and qualify for the knockout phase with a game still to go.

The seven-times European champions could not hold on in front of a Scottish blitz as an already-eliminated Celtic scored twice in the opening 13 minutes through Tom Rogic and Odsonne Edouard.

But the Italian giants hit back in some style as Hakan Calhanoglu brought them back in the game with a free kick in the 24th minute and two minutes later the hosts drew level through Samu Castillejo.

Milan went ahead five minutes after the break through Jens Petter Hauge and substitute Brahim Diaz finished off any Celtic hopes of salvaging a point with a superb chipped finish in the 82nd minute.

Lille’s 2-1 victory over Sparta Prague kept the French side top and guaranteed Milan’s path into the last 32.
