The 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin in Qatar on 20 November.
After the 2002 World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan, this is the first
World Cup to be totally hosted in Asia. Several premier teams such as Brazil,
England, Argentina, France, Germany are running for the title.

Here, we take a look at the 5 most valuable teams in terms of their price tags in the transfer market.

1.       England – 1149 million Euros

Featuring in Group B alongside
Iran, Wales and USA, England is one of the top teams at this year’s World Cup
and will take on Asian country Iran in their first encounter on 21 November.
The most valuable player of the team is Manchester City’s Phil Foden, who has
market value of 110 million euros. Other valuable players in the team include
skipper Harry Kane, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

2.      
Brazil – 1145.5 million Euros

Brazil starts its campaign from Group G
which also features Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon. It stands as the second
most valuable team of the event. Brazil kick starts their campaign against
Serbia on November 25. Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid is Brazil’s most valuable
player with a market value of 118 million euros. Notably, he has a higher value
than the team’s most famous player, Neymar Jr, who stands at third behind
Vinicius and Rodrygo (79 million euros).

3.      
France – 1337 million Euros

Defending champions France are placed in
group D. The group also contains Australia, Denmark and Tunisia. France starts the World Cup with a match against
Australia on 23 November. Kylian Mbappe who won the Best Young Player award
when France won the title in 2018, leads the team with a market value of 158.1
million euros. Other valuable members in the team include Aurelien
Tchouameni (80 million Euors)and Barcelona’s Jules Kounde (60 million Euros).

4.      
Spain – 1201 million Euros

2010 champions Spain feature 4th
on this list. Compared to other teams mentioned in this list, Spain has a
relatively tougher group, also featuring Germany, who took over the World title
from them in 2014. Spain’s first match of the World Cup is against Costa Rica
on 23 November. The other two teams in Group E are Japan and Costa Rica. The most valuable
player for Spain is Pedri, with a value of 100 million Euros.

5.      
Portugal – 1154 million Euros

Featuring 5th on this list,
Portugal is placed in group H alongside Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea. They
play their first match of the event on 24 November against Ghana. The most
valuable player of Portugal is Rafael Leo with a market value of 85 million
Euros. Portugal’s most famous player Cristiano Ronaldo has a much lesser market value with 19.81 million Euros. Other valuable players in Portugal include Ansu Fati( 50 million Euros) and Pau Torres (50 million Euros)
