All the talks about the Sunday night IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in Sharjah have been about all-rounder Rahul Tewatia’s blitzy innings of 53 off 31 balls. Tewatia hit seven sixes helping Rajasthan Royals hunt down an improbable target of 224 runs. While the social media went berserk over Tewatia’s effort, Kings XI Punjab player Nicholas Pooran’s sensational effort on the field also grabbed attention from many, including legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood star Riteish Deshmukh.

Nicholas Pooran, who hit 25 not out from just eight balls, helping his team reach a big total, pulled off a spectacular save at the mid-wicket boundary. The West Indian cricketer leaped in the air, caught the ball single-handed and then pulled it back into the field of play before landing on the other side of the boundary denying Rajasthan Royals’ batsman Sanju Samson a certain six.

“This is the best save I have seen in my life. Simply incredible!!” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted soon after the stunning effort.

“Pooran has just produced one of the greatest fielding saves I have ever seen. That was almost two yards over the rope and to pull it back…Wow! Where is this standard of fielding going to take us next,” famous commentator Harsha Bhogle said in his tweet.

Here are some of the reactions lauding Pooran’s crazy effort:
