Every victory has its own story and they should never be compared. Indian-cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir learned this lesson the hard way and now he wants spinner Harbhajan Singh to remember that too.

Recently, Harbhajan Singh said that Indian Olympian Neeraj Chopra‘s gold win is bigger than India’s 2011 World Cup victory. To this Gautam Gambhir replied on Twitter that he should never say this and when on to say this several times.

Here is the post.

Now, if you are wondering what prompted Gambhir to say this to Harbhajan. Here is the back story.

BJP politician Gautam Gambhir was brutally trolled a few days back after he compared the 2011 World Cup win with India’s bronze medal triumph in hockey at the Tokyo Olympics, which marked an end to a 41-year-long wait for a medal in hockey.

India had won the World Cup under the captaincy of legendary MS Dhoni in 2011, bringing an end to India’s 28-year-long wait for a second World Cup title. Gambhir scored a whopping 98 runs in the final game. Harbhajan Singh was also a part of the historic 2011 Cricket world cup game.

Coming back to Olympics, Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra on Saturday created history by winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics. He threw a massive 87.58m in the men’s javelin throw finals to end India’s 100-year wait for a track and field medal in the Olympics.

Before this Indian Men’s Hockey team won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.  In the current ranking, the men’s hockey team is placed behind gold-medallist Belgium and silver-medallist Australia.

The women’s team, on the other hand, missed out on a bronze medal after losing 3-4 to Great Britain in a seven-goal thriller. They were tantalisingly close to a historic Olympic medal but finished fourth at the Summer Games.
