Smith’s knees were awkwardly twisted as a result of linebacker Isaiah Simmons’s tackle. Smith returned to the field after initially leaving it with a third-and-13 scenario and got into a heated argument with Giants defensive back Xavier McKinney.

Smith made an enduring impression while attending West Virginia University by breaking multiple school records, including the most career throwing yards (11,662) and career passing touchdowns (98).
