The referees for Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions were trolled on social media for alleged biased calls in favour of Aaron Rodgers and co. The two sides locked horns at the Lambeau Stadium on Sunday.

“Did you all think we were actually going to give the @Lions anything?” a Twitter user said.

“These refs 😂. You have to call this both ways,” another one tweeted.

“NFL refs have become worse than NBA refs! I never thought that was possible,” a third one added.

The Packers were in complete control of their postseason destiny going into the last game of the NFL regular season after winning four straight games and receiving plenty of assistance from other teams. The Los Angeles Rams were ousted from the playoffs earlier on Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks defeated them 19-16 in overtime, but the Packers were unsuccessful against the Lions.

In the game, Rodgers registered himself as the 8th player in NFL history to manage 5,000 career completions.

Rodgers went 17 of 27 for 205 yards with one touchdown and the crucial pick on the final pass of what was perhaps the four-time MVP’s final game at Lambeau Field. The 39-year-old Rodgers has said he doesn’t know whether he plans to continue playing next season.

Seattle (9-8) instead earned the NFC’s final playoff spot and will play at San Francisco (13-4) in the opening round. The Packers (8-9) missed the playoffs for the first time in Matt LaFleur’s four seasons as coach.

After the Packers’ Sunday loss to the Lions, Rodgers and Randall Cobb were spotted leaving Lambeau Field together, obviously upset after being eliminated from the postseason.
