Hardik Pandya, who was the player of the match in the first T20I vs England, has received flak on social media after the video went viral.
"Just by winning one ipl trophy hardik pandya is abusing the man who is five times winner in ipl and playing for india since 2007 and by the way he has shown this before with his another senior shami," a Twitter user said.
"This hardik pandya against Rohit Sharma incident is a a true example of "Respect is deserved, not demanded," another one added.
The hashtag #HardikAbusedRohit is being widely used on social media.
Some also came out in support of Pandya.
"Hardik Pandya is that alpha guy who speaks facts without caring for anyone. Said Kohli is better than Sachin and now he doesn't Bootlick Rohit just because he is the Captain. He just showed levels to Rohit yesterday," one social media user said.
"Without Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians wouldn't have won many trophies. He was the real Captain of MI while Rohit was carried by the team with 25 avg for 6 seasons. Hardik's legacy is bigger than Rohit's," another one added.
Riding on an all-round bowling effort India defeated England by 49 runs. Rohit Sharma and co have won the series.
