Dallas Cowboys were coming off a historic 54-19 win, their quarterback Dak Prescott was firing, running backs were doing well and the Week 14 match-up against the Houston Texans should have been a cake-walk. The NFC East second-place holders won 27-23.
Trailing 23-20, with about 5:45 left in the fourth quarter, Prescott threw his second interception of the game. Tremon Smith picked the Dallas quarterback for the second time. Houston had the game. The Cowboys were seeing the possibility of a big loss at home.
However, they managed to get into the endzone with seconds left in the game. Running back Ezekiel Elliott rushed two yards for a touchdown and kicker Maher got them the extra point.
The Cowboys led the Texans for the first time in the game with 41 seconds left.
Texans quarterback Davis Mills, with three seconds in the game, desperately threw into the endzone and Mukuamu intercepted it to ruin the visitors’ chance to win the game. Dallas sealed it.

Earlier in the day, the Houston Texans, who are having an awful season with ten losses off 11 games, were surprisingly competitive and defended well. After a tight first quarter and a close second one, the home favourites were up with a slim 14-11 lead.
With minutes remaining in the second quarter, Jeff Driskel gave a 28-yarder pass that Amari Rodgers promptly caught to score his career’s first attacking touchdown and helped the Texans siege the lead with 17-14. Houston held on to the lead in the third quarter as they scored three more points to Cowboys’ none. As things turned out, they were inches away from the season’s most shocking upset.
