Day 13 of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics saw six medal events take place. Canada defeated the United States to secure gold in the women’s hockey game. Michelle Gisin of Switzerland won gold in the alpine skiing women’s combined event, while Canada’s Marielle Thompson secured gold in the freestyle skiing women’s skicross event. Miho Takagi of Japan won the women’s speedskating 1,000-meter final to secure gold, while Norway won the Olympic gold in the men’s Nordic combined team competition. Russia’s Anna Shcherbakova, meanwhile, won the figure skating gold over 15-year-old favourite Kamila Valieva, who is embroiled in a doping controversy and finished fourth.
