India men’s hockey team created history on Day 14 of the Tokyo Olympics by defeating Germany 5-4 in the bronze medal playoff, ending the country’s 41-year wait for a medal in the national sport. Meanwhile, despite losing 4-7 to reigning world champion Zavur Uguev, Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya also clinched a silver medal in the men’s freestyle 57kg title. Vinesh Phogat, who was a gold medal contender for India, lost to Vanesa Kaladzinskaya of Belarus in the quarter-finals.
