Several big names from the Indian squad including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur were rested for the New Zealand T20Is. Rohit Sharma was named the captain and KL Rahul, the vice captain. Kane Williamson and company will tour India in November-December. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced India’s squad for T20Is against New Zealand and India ‘A’ squad for South Africa tour. The committee picked a 16-member squad for the T20I series against New Zealand. India are set to play 3 T20Is starting from November 17, 2021.

Virat Kohli had announced that he will step down as India’s T20 skipper after the 2021 T20 World Cup. The 32-year-old, for the last time, led the team in the shortest format against Namibia in the last game of the marquee tournament. The Men in Blue won the game by nine wickets.

BCCI also picked the India ‘A’ squad for the South Africa tour scheduled to start from November 23 in Bloemfontein. The team will play three four-day matches during the tour.
